  • Emotions, Intelligence and the Biology of Love
    A Learning Conversation on the work of Dr. Humberto Maturana
    August 18, 7 - 9:30 pm

    In this highly interactive Learning Conversation we will explore the relationship of emotions to intelligence and attention. We'll explore the type of conversations in the family that can support the dynamics of love. Claudia L'Amoreaux is currently producing video interviews with Dr. Maturana on the Biology of Love and Education. Clips from two interviews will be shown. Claudia's work has been featured on New Dimensions World Broadcasting Network, BBC World Radio's Essential Guide to the New Millennium, and in the film On the Wild Side—Meetings with Remarkable Women. Locally, she has been interviewed on Childhood Matters, and Mike Riera's Family Talk. She is co-author of Creating Learning Communities (Solomon Press, 2000). She creates learning communities that support young people in self-directed learning.

    A Workshop for Parents on Electronic Media and Your Teen
    August 20, 10 am - 1 pm
    Cost: $45, snack provided
    Limited to 8 participants

    Is your computer a battleground in your house? Join educational consultant Claudia L'Amoreaux for a presentation on the Net Generation, covering topics like Internet safety and privacy issues, pornography, addiction and self-monitoring, multitasking and attention, and more. The last hour will be strategic coaching with participants on specific issues.

    Learning Conversations in Nature Series

    Cost: $250.00 per couple or co-parents, $200 per person

    Join Claudia for a 4-week series of Learning Conversations in Tilden Park for new parents and their babies. We'll explore topics like the biology of love, nurturing your child's connection with deep nature, creating community for a lifetime, the relationship of emotions to intelligence. Bring your lunch, make new friendships, support your family's well-being.
